Molecular Formula NaCLO3
Molecular Weight:106.45
H.S.CODE: 28291100
Appearance: sodium chlorate is a colorless or white crystalline compound at normal temperature.
Uses: used for paper pulp bleaching, chlorite, perchlorate, herbicide, oxidizing agent, medicine
producing, printing and dyeing, metalworking, and processing of uranium ore.
Packing and Transportation: plastic woven bag (lined with double layer of polythene bags),
1000kg/bulka bag.
Properties: Achromatous or white crystalline material, taste salty and cool, density: 2.490, melting
point: 255℃, it is very soluble in ethanol, liquid ammonia and glycerin. Over the temperature
of 300℃, it is very easily decomposed and form oxygen. The power of oxidating is week in
neutral or alkalescent solution but it is strong in acidic solution or containing revulsive oxidant
and activator (such as vitriolic ammonium, vitriolic copper, Potassium hexacyanoferrate (II)
trihydrate and so on),mixing with acids (vitriol) may produce chlorine dioxide, it has strong
oxidating power, when mixing with sulfur, phosphorus and organic materials or impact may
give rise to burning and exploding. Deliquescence: it absorbs vapor and changes into solution
in the atmosphere with high humidity.
